This restoration project has been able to bring back to life an old building that treasured great heritage values. That would not have been possible without the work of great craftsmen that have recovered ‘Nolla’ ceramic flooring, ceilings with its original moldings, as well as, interior and exterior joinery. The extra floors have been constructed with KLH wood structures.

This project that intervenes both in the private and common areas, seeks to enhance the characteristic structural system consisting on wooden joists, ceramic vaults and load-bearing walls; and to consolidate the building, maintaining its same scheme, adopting the same solution for all the floors and minimizing the loads to avoid having to intervene in the foundation.

Two kinds of interventions have been made depending on the conditions of the structure: reinforcement of the floors using laminated wood panels connecting them to the joists and the load-bearing walls and demolition of the floors with severe pathologies and replacement of those with new floors made of laminated wood panels secured to the walls.
